Objective: To evaluate the effectiveness of melatonin as part of comprehensive preventive therapy in pregnant women at risk of placenta-associated complications.
Materials and Methods. A prospective clinical study was conducted involving 146 pregnant women. Group I included high-risk pregnant women, who were divided into a main subgroup (complex therapy with melatonin) and a comparison subgroup (standard therapy). The control group consisted of women with a physiological pregnancy. Hemostasis parameters, placental function, and pregnancy outcomes were evaluated.
Results. Melatonin use as part of comprehensive therapy resulted in a more pronounced normalization of hemostasis parameters, improved uteroplacental blood flow, and a lower incidence of placenta-associated complications compared to standard therapy.
Conclusions. Melatonin as part of comprehensive prevention improves hemostatic balance, enhances placental function, and optimizes pregnancy outcomes, supporting its potential clinical use.
