Objective of the study. To study the role of clinical and endocrinological parameters in predicting ovarian reserve before assisted reproductive technologies.
Materials and methods. To achieve the stated objective, a clinical and endocrinological examination of 80 women with infertility was conducted. Thus, the main group consisted of 40 patients with a normal ovarian response to superovulation stimulation, without meeting the ESHRE criteria for "poor" ovarian response or the ASRM criteria for "hyper-response". A normal ovarian response involved the growth of 4 to 10 follicles. Comparison group 1 was formed of 20 patients with a "poor" ovarian response to superovulation stimulation. Comparison group 2 consisted of 20 patients with an ovarian "hyper-response" to superovulation stimulation.
Results. An analysis of the predictive accuracy of clinical and hormonal markers in predicting ovarian response was performed for this patient sample. The prediction of a normal ovarian response to superovulation stimulation, based on clinical and hormonal parameters, which was initially expected in 41 patients, failed in 4 patients (9.7%) who developed a "poor" response, and in 6 patients (14.6%) an ovarian "hyper-response" unexpectedly developed. That is, in approximately 1 out of 10 cases, a prediction based solely on clinical and hormonal parameters does not allow for an accurate prediction of the ovarian response to superovulation stimulation.
Conclusion. Summarizing the obtained data, the search for new predictors that will increase the accuracy of predicting ovarian response appears promising and relevant.
